When you are in New York City during the winter, without a doubt you want to be inside in the warmth. Especially if you are a Florida-boy like me. However, there is also the longing to be partying outside on the rooftops to soak in the NYC skyline. Last night, I experienced just how to do so with new and old friends from Real Housewives of New Jersey, radio and TV hosts, and more – at the Veuve Clicquot Champagne Chalet on the gorgeous rooftop bar Mr. Purple.
Let’s just say … it is stunning and the company was fun too.
Mr. Purple, which is situated atop of the Hotel Indigo Lower East Side, has transformed the luxury lounge into an aprés-ski lodge under the NYC sky.
What is an aprés-ski lodge?
Well … it is a chic, cozy spot where you can feel comfortable while living the high-life. Mr. Purple would describe it as a place decorated with purple deer heads, fireplace décor and blankets sprinkled around to keep you bundled up.
The Veuve Clicquot Chalet has opened a transparent dome on the terrace of the rooftop that resembles that of a larger-than-life snow globe. Once you snap a few photos on the terrace of the beautiful concrete jungle, you can step into this globe and be transported to another ski lodge setting that welcomes guests to a small champagne bar.
The bar not only has the delicious Veuve Clicquot bubbly, the bartenders also concoct holiday-themed cocktails, including almond milk-inspired hot chocolate, hot toddys and more. Guests can also enjoy delectable cheese and chocolate fondue.
The bespoke Veuve Clicquot Chalet can accommodate between 25-50 people and reservations are highly recommended, but you can also chance it and try to walk-in, pending availability. You can reserve your spot at www.MrPurpleNYC.com. Through the site, you can also reserve the Chalet for private events.
