Hosted by Kelly Ripa and Donna Karan, 2014 was another spectacular year for Super Saturday, one the most coveted tickets of the summer. The six hour buy-athon, sponsored by QVC for ‘shop till you droppers’ was again a great event for a great cause; The Ovarian Cancer Research Fund (OCRF). With the minor set back of a huge trailer being stolen from a warehouse filled with goods from manufacturers that included Ralph Lauren, Theory and Nicole Miller, the event went on to be a raving success and raised $3.5 Million. The fabulous fare from St. Ambrose to the DJ to the children’s section, gifts and services by PRIV Braid Bar, Rolls Royce photo-booth and a psychic reading by Betsey Wahmann, only complimented the massive clothing and accessories sale that benefitted a most worthy cause.
With such talented designers as Nanette LaPore, Milly, Haute Hippie, Elie Taha
ri, Diane Von Furstenberg, Alice & Olivia, Vince, Helmut Lang, Rachel Zoe Proenza Schouler and Stella McCartney how could the event be anything but a success? And to top it off, a multitude of celebrities and VIPs such as Kelly Rutherford, Jill Martin, Gayle King. Joy Bahar, Star Jones, Lisa Rinna, Katie Lee Joel, Beth Stern. Hilaria and Alec Baldwin came out in support, buying up the bargains and bring attention to such and important issue.
