Five Hooters Girls from South and Southwest Florida competed in the 21st Annual Hooters International Pageant on July 12th at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas. Amberly Hall, Miss Fort Lauderdale finished as the first runner up in the pageant. Amberly received a $10,000 prize. “Placing 1st runner up was more than I could have ever dreamed of. I am so thankful to Hooters for the opportunities that they have provided me and for my Hooters family for helping me prepare for such a huge night in such a short period of time (8 days). I had huge huge shoes to fill as Miss Fort Lauderdale and I would have loved to have brought the crown home to South Florida again this year, but I am glad I could still make my loved ones proud and come so close to a lifelong dream,” said Amberly. Last year, Amberly finished in the top ten.

The 2016 Miss Hooters International and South Florida’s own Sable Robbert passed her crown to last night’s winner, Chelsea Morgensen from Hollywood California. In 2016, Sable who is from Pembroke Pines Hooters received a $30,000 cash prize and served as the face of the iconic brand for the past year. “The experience of being Miss Hooters International was incredible. I already am lucky enough to be a Hooters Girl but to be the face of such an iconic brand and a role model to such amazing Hooters Girls was a dream come true. I used my year to continue working with charities (Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital, SEEK Foundation, Wow Center, Self Help International, Miami Cancer Institute, Moffitt Cancer Center, Kelly Jo Dowd, etc.),” said Sable. Sable is also the 2017 Hooters Calendar Cover Girl. During this week’s pageant festivities, Sable was elected to the Hooters Hall of Fame. “ I was honored with the cover of the Hooters Calendar, and was able to help host behind the scenes for this years pageant. Being inducted into the Hooters Hall of Fame was definitely the highlight of my year”.

Another representative from South Florida Hooters Restaurants Hailey Slobodzian, Miss South Fort Myers won Fan Favorite from online voting and placed in the Top 10. Hailey is also a Hooters Calendar Girl and works at the Hooters of Fort Myers. Hailey’s mom was a former Fort Myers Beach Hooters Girl and Hooters Calendar Girl. “Hearing my name being called twice on that stage was unbelievable. Being in Las Vegas completing for the Miss Hooters International Swimsuit pageant in it self was already such a once in a lifetime experience, little did I know things were just getting started. Standing in line up with 79 other amazing, and unique, beautiful women, already had been an honor. To hear my name for top ten, my heart just dropped. I stared into the crowd searching for both my Hooters family along with my actual family, my heart never felt so whole. After I gathered my self on stage, my name was called once again for Miss Fan Favorite 2017. This title awarded to the one girl who collected the most votes based off of social media voting from the public. To think, I had so much support to actually take home the title of Miss Fan Favorite 2017, reminds me that I have an immense team rooting for me constantly, I feel as though I could conquer the world and I’m eager to,” said Hailey.

The other local Hooters Girls who competed are Allison Calderon, Hialeah (Miss Miami), Camri Campbell, Fort Myers (Miss Fort Myers) and Mariah Materiale, Cape Coral (Miss Cape Coral). The pageant contestants were selected from the Hooters Girls who presently work in the restaurants. The competition included a swimsuit, costume from the state each girl represents, dress and interview portions.
