COVID-19 Moves doNYC to Rebrand as DoStuff [At Home]

In the wake of COVID-19, New York-based media company doNYC (Part of the DoStuff Media National Network) is rebranding (for the time being) as DoStuff [At Home]. Before COVID, DoStuff was responsible for driving 43 million event attendees and $2.1 Billion in local entertainment spending a year. Now, with the same core message as before, doNYC / DoStuff [At Home] remains a platform dedicated to bringing people together, even if it means temporarily evolving to do so virtually. Don’t expect to see Netflix and boardgames though. While those can certainly be entertaining, doNYC / DoStuff’s focus is keeping people connected to and supporting their local (and the larger) live music/entertainment community.

The relaunched doNYC website will list, curate and promote virtual events across New York, highlighting anything and everything from intimate in-home performances from their favorite artists, to trivia call-ins, and even online drag queen brunches! Additionally a nationally focused website – dostuffathome.com – was launched last week so people globally can tune in and enjoy the content. Users will also have access to a number of ‘Enter to Win’ and  ‘RSVP’ incentives such as streaming reminders, song requests, shoutouts from hosts and more. As local communities adapt to creating events for their virtual audience, doNYC / DoStuff will be right there to support them.

As new information and protocols for COVID-19 develop, the world at large has had to adjust in relation. A majority of DoStuff’s business is driven by ad spends from event promoters, coupled with brands looking to engage a captive local audience at scale by creating meaningful content and experience. With this form of engagement coming to a halt, DoStuff has to make some fast decisions to support their employees and the local community that relies on them. Read DoStuff COO Kristin Owen’s full statement here, and in the absence of advertising revenue for the time being, you can support doNYC’s staff via GoFundMe.

100% of the funds raised will go to the doNYC staff who’ve been leveled by that business stoppage.
