BIG DADDY, KING FOR A DAY

The Second Annual Big Daddy Golf Classic, held at the magnificent Oheka Castle in Huntington, NY, started off with a bang as sports VIPs and celebrities alike lined the green for a chance to play for two very worthy causes. The tournament’s proceeds benefit the Long Island Children’s Museum and Cushing Neuroscience Institute at North Shore’s LIJ, which helps with the treatment of brain aneurysms. From Manhattan, Michael Strahan (of “Live with Kelly & Michael”) was heliported to the castle in a Luxury Aero helicopter, as onlookers sipped champagne, nibbled on light fare and beamed with delight. Michael and Scott Rechler were honored with matching silver bracelets (designed by Scott Kay) for their tireless support of the Big Daddy Foundation. Rich “Big Daddy” Salgado spoke with heartfelt emotion about how they stood by him when he suffered a life-threatening aneurysm operation several years ago.
