LIAACC’S Member Receives Ray Lynch Award
Abraham Kevin Spann, Middle Village Allstate Insurance Agent and Member of the Long Island African American Chamber of Commerce receives prestigious honor
The Ray Lynch Community Service award is dedicated to the memory of former agent Ray Lynch of Fayetteville, N.C. Lynch who built a successful agency around a remarkable record of service to his community. During his 32 years as an agent, Lynch earned many company honors. In 1999, after Lynch passed away, and Allstate created this community service award in his honor. Only one Agent from across the country is given this amazing recognition.
“It is a true honor and privilege to be your trusted adviser and be part of the amazing community you live in. Our agency is very proud of its long tradition of caring and commitment to our customers; and my Agency and I work hard to provide an experience worthy of our ‘Good Hands’ reputation,” Spann said in accepting his honor.
Spann dedicated the award to his best friend, Ted Walker. In November 2016, Walker was diagnosed with stage four pancreatic cancer. With help from communities, Spann was able to raise $18,000 in 30 days for his extensive treatment. Being able to help his friend, in his time of need, was the single greatest thing he had ever been involved in, he said.
“Kevin Spann’s life work exemplifies the Quality and level of commitment that we admire at the chamber,” said Phil Andrews, President for the Long Island African American Chamber of Commerce “LIAACC looks forward to continually working with Mr. Spann as he makes a difference in the lives on others. Keep up the excellent work!”
Organizations Spann supports includes the Marine Corps League, Team Green, Relay for Life, Thursday’s Child and Agents of Change. He is a leader in the Wyandanch community, earning the Positive Men of Wyandanch Award and serve as Vice President of Wyandanch Day.
