West Elm and SpringHill Suites

Hospitality powerhouse SpringHill Suites by Marriott in an exclusive partnership with global furniture icon West Elm is undergoing a major interior redesign of its properties to make guest stays and even more exciting experience.

These iconic brands have collaborated to create a sleek modern décor package for rooms featuring a custom sofa and hand crafted pieces, seamlessly blending great style with multifunction to SpringHill Suites.

Millennium Magazine visited a number of SpringHill Suites to find each one uniquely decked out. Don’t expect the cookie cutter model at these hotels, nor any corny city-themed decor. Walking into lobbies you quickly feel as if you are visiting the concierge at a high end mall, or lobby of luxury apartment building with a welcoming staff. The lobby collection features vases, frames and trays, all inspired by West Elm and SpringHill Suites’ modern style.

“Our goal is to make sure these guests who are seeking a bit more out of a typical hotel stay get to do just that,” said Loren Nalewanski, Vice President and Global Brand Manager for SpringHill Suites and TownPlace Suites.

The front door presentation is no facade either, for the intricate designs carry over into the rooms. The SpringHill Suites “More Style for Your Stay” room collection features a three-in-one sofa, modern ottoman cube, brass trimmed saddle chair, wood tray crafted from repurposed pine shipping pallets, lamps that double as charging stations and pillows hand loomed by artisans in India.

“Sometimes the best design elements are really subtle,” said Nalewanski.

Nalewanski says the ultimate custom collection is the result of the first collaboration of its kind between brands. Ideas were hatched up between executives and designers while brainstorming in Dumbo.

About 25 hotels nationwide are furnished with the edgy decor. Presently the hotel operates 350 properties and plans to open another 160 in the future. Of the newly planned sites, 75 will open in 2017.

SpringHill Suites guests will be able to mimic the modern luxury decor they experience during their stay, as all pieces will be made available for purchase online at West Elm.
