Adored Classical Singer Alyson Cambridge Lavishes Fresh Sensuality on Romantic Favorites With New Album…UNTIL NOW.

Radiantly beautiful. Serene with a twinkle. Elegant yet approachable. Gifted with a voice that’s truly heaven sent. Alyson Cambridge is sheer delight to experience as she steps away from the opera stage to imaginatively bring us torch songs and jazzed-up celebrations of love with her new album, Until Now.  A 13-track selection she describes as an eclectic mix of personal favorites. Imbued with a fresh sensuality, her rendition of the Peggy Lee signature Fever  – tops of her list of faves – is very much her own, made memorable with teasing, revealing notes that barely keep desire in check.

The Washington Post calls Alyson “radiant, vocally assured, dramatically subtle and compelling and artistically imaginative” and that’s an understatement.  Her full range of vocal talents – jazz, soul, musical theater, cabaret and pop – have never been heard on an album before – “until now” she reveals. And yes, it’s worth the wait!

It’s no wonder that applause has cascaded over Alyson as she’s graced the stages of The Metropolitan Opera, Carnegie Hall, Kennedy Center, Lyric Opera of Chicago, London’s Royal Albert Hall, Deutsche Oper Berlin and Vienna Konzerthaus to name only a selection of world famous destinations where she is beloved for her classical repertoire. But she’s been building a new following for her recent performances in Kern & Hammerstein’s Show Boat, Gershwin’s Porgy and Bess and Blue Monday.  And of course, her first crossover album.

Newly married this sophisticated superstar is pausing in NYC between jaunts to DC to perform contemporary classical works created just for her at The Kennedy Center and visits down South with the Kentucky Opera.  Life on the road as a performer may not be what a girl dreams of when love finally finds her, but she manages to balance both with her easy elan.

Slim, long legged, a devoted dog owner to her Lucy and an avid runner she bubbles over with joyful energy.  The ruby red stones of her Jemily earrings flash in the candlelight as she moves gracefully; speaking with genuine  passion for the new musical genres she finally has the chance to fully explore. Is there a sequel in the works? She won’t quite confess but more in this genre is a definite maybe.
