The first Superweek ever celebrated the latest and greatest of pop culture and led up to the iconic Comic Con in New York City. For one week Manhattan became the center of the comic lover’s universe where fans and characters came out to play and feast their eyes on all sorts of mind-blowing exhibitions
Star Talk with Neil DeGrasse Tyson kicked off the first event of Superweek, with a very eclectic group of people including the famous author and journalist Malcolm Gladwell, professor of sociology at Colombia University Alondra Nelson, The Daily Show correspondent Wyatt Cenac, and stand-up comedian/co-host Eugene Mirman, who discussed topics that revolved around sociology.
The highlighted ‘Star Trek’ Panel led by William Shatner discussed the Final Frontier featuring cast members from ‘Star Trek: The Next Generation’ including Patrick Stewart who talked about inspirational fan stories and their favorite, most memorable on and off camera moments.
Characters and fans came from far and wide to experience the fantasy of Comic Con which took place at the Jacob Javitz Center. 150,000 people filled the sold out hall to see and hear their favorite ghouls from shows including the ‘Walking Dead’, ‘Adult Swim’, ‘Gotham’, ‘Elementary’, ‘Black Sails’, ‘The Librarians’ and ‘Once Upon A Time’.
